The Legend of Sleepy Hollow

The legend of sleepy hollow is a very intersting story. When i first heard of a sleepy hollow was when i saw a movie known as Sleepy Hollow. The movie and story are two different things. In the movie there are things going on or you may say happening that's not in the actual story/ or book.Actor Johnny Dept is the main character who played in the movie Sleepy Hollow.Mr.Dep played a major role in this movie as a scientist who is investigating on the headless horseman. In the story or the book which ever you prefer you do not hear much about an investigator.

This American Romanticism is involved with a sequestered glen who has long been known by the name of sleepy hollow. He has rustic lads who are known as the sleepy Hollow Boyz.A drosey, dreamy, infunce seem to hangover the land. Some people thought it was bewitchied by a high german doctor.Every one who is amongst this neighborhood is abound with the local tales, huanted spots, and twilight superstition. How ever thier are some domanite spirits that hunts that region. But there is also time for love. There is this girl, the daughter of Balt Van Tassel, a nice girl who gets her way because her dad wants to make her happy and,her mother dose her own thing, she thinks that girls can raise thier selves. But the dughter of Mr.tasssel has had a man fall in love with her.
Their are many different tales to this story. But to make this story short and, to let you hear a little about it so you will be interested in reading it. The young fellow in this story went out looking for an explanation basically to see if the tells of this story was true.So one day he goes out into the woods and i guess you can say he found an explanation to what he wanted to know, along with that came fear. The fear was of a headless horseman mounted up on a black horse of a large frame. For a moment he had to deal with his fear the headless horsemen and him where amongst each other for a while.Until they reached the road where sleepy hollow turns off.On this day that horsemen kept going as the man thought to him self if i ca get to the other side of the bridge i should be safe at the as he speak that he feels the feeling of the horsemen around him and that feeling was true after a period of time lets say about four minutes the horsemen flies by him like a whirlwind. In the end the headless horsemen was at rest or is he.

This story is romantic because, Romanticism is based on imagination. In this story a headless horseman would be what you would have to use an imagination on.No one can be alive with no head and steal be living and going around do things that people alive are doing.

In the poem Thanatopsis Washington Irving was trying to explain to the people in the city that you should come to the country where you can be happy unlike the life in the city. You should not be afraid to die when you feel that you are about to die think of nature. In the end he is saying every one is equal no one is higher than anyone else everyone should be treated like a king a queen the most up highest. It's basically based on Nature, Imagination, and the the fact of how everyone should be treated equally. To brake it down all into one this is what you call Romanticism.

This is about both poems : Natuer speaks in diffrent ways, but when you think of death think of natuer in all the good that is of natuer,To sum the poem up thou shall lie down showing ordinary people are as good as the wise and more.

The Rope Walk:Rope walk is about this man who is inside this ship with little windows that are not that big and him and some others are making a rope.He has been doing this horrible job for a while now that his imagination has him thinking he has a spider web in his head with a spider inside the spider web.As he keep working doing this horrible job he starts using Romanticism. As he start usin romantacism he is seeing the rope being used as different things like a woman swinging on a rope, he saw the rope being used at a well and many other things. Being that he used his imagination with the rope, was his example of Romanticism.

Emmett Till

Emmett Till

Emmett Louis Till also known as "Bobo’’was born July 25th 1941 in Chicago Illinois. Emmett was the son of a proud mother and father Mamaie Till and Louis Till. In 1955 Emmett Till and his cousin were sent to Money, Mississippi for a summer to stay with his great uncle Moses Wright. Just before Emmett left his mother cautioned him to mind his manners with white people, and gave him his fathers ring.

On August 21st Emmett arrived in Money, Mississippi. On the date of August 24, 1955 Emmett met up with other teens his age. They all went down to Bryant’s grocery and meat market to get some candy and soda. While in the store Emmett decided he would show some of his pictures of his life back home. According to Wikipedia, in one of the pictures there was a picture of Emmett and his white girlfriend. They couldn’t believe that Emmett had a White girlfriend. After looking at the pictures they dared him to talk to a white woman in the shop. People say that till was leaving the store and said "bye baby" to Carolyn Bryant, who was a married white woman. According to goggle research she was very upset she stood up and looked at him means and walked out to her car.

The news greatly upset her husband when he heard of it upon his return from out of town several days later. Wheeler Parker Jr. (Emmett’s cousin) who was with him at the store said Emmett did nothing but whistle at the woman. In Mississippi they didn’t see that appropriate to do if you were black and doing that to someone white. Now according to Carolyn she stated that till had grabbed her by her waist and asked her for a date. She also made a statement that Emmett used "unprintable" words. "He had a slight stutter and some have conjectured that Mrs.Bryant might have misinterpreted what till said".

When 24 year old Mr. Bryant returned three days after his wives encounter with Till everyone in Tallahatichi County had heard about it. Bryant decided that him and his half brother J.W. Milam 36 years old would meet at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday " to teach the boy a lesson" On August 27,1955 at 12:30 a.m. Bryant and his brother J.W. kidnapped Emmett Till from his great uncles house in the middle of the night. According to About.com witness had said they drove him to a weathered shed on a plantation in neighboring Sunflower County. They brutally beat and then shot him. They put a fan around his neck to weigh down his body. Later after beating him to death they threw his body into the Tallahatchie River. According to Bob Daylan they found Emmett’s body floating to the top with a look of foam floating around in the water. The two brothers and police tried to convince the people that Emmett Till was in Chicago, and the beaten boy was someone else. The reason they recognized him because Emmett Till was wearing his father’s ring that his mother gave him before he left. On August 29th the brothers were arrested after spending the night at a relative’s house in Ruleville, Mississippi.

According to wikipedia this location was miles from the scene of crime. After being under investigation the brothers admitted they had taken Till from his great-uncles yard and then they said they turned him loose the same night. After Till's horribly disfigured body was found, he was put into a pine box and nearly burned, but Mamie Till( Emmett’s mother) wanted to bring her son home back to Chicago where he belonged . The Tutwiler mortuary assistant back in Mississippi worked all night to prepare Emmetts body the best they could before they sent him back home to Chicago. According to my research the Chicago funeral home had agreed not to open the casket, but Mamie Till fought it. Sometime after the state of Mississippi wouldn’t allow the funeral home to open it, Mamie threatened to open it herself, insisting she had a right to open the casket to see her difugerd son.She also left it open for every one who came to the funeral. She left the casket open allowing people to take photos and letting people see how bad Emmetts body was disfiguerd.

On September 6 Emmett’s body had been buried in Burr Oak cemetery in Alsip Illinois.
This is based on a true story this needs to be taken very serious. Looking back at this story is just shows a little of how bad African-Americans were being treated. I don’t think its fair how we (African- Americans ) were beaten and killed like we werent even human. I guess from others eyes African Americans were some what like animals we got no respect from no one but our race. This made a big impact on the civil rights movement and thanks to Martin Luther King Jr. we no longer live with this night mare.

Rationlalist

The difference between Puritanism and rationalism is that the Puritanism believed that every thing that happened was because of god.Rationalism's believed in science but did respect the honors of god.In the 1800's Americans called it the Age of Rationalism. A word that breaks down everything is Deism which is a form of belief it is based on science and mathematics.

Rationalist wanted to believe that human society was ran by natural law.Puritans wanted to believe it was very important to plead to god.

From my point of view i think he improved his life when he became on of the most famous important founding fathers of the U.S. Along with the improvement was author, printer, a postmaster, almanac maker chemist tinker, statesman and may other things only thing he wasn't was a poet.Benjamin Franklin is a good example of rationalist because he is a man of his word and beliefs he goes and accomplish all these things he has wanted to do and is a legend for it.

Chitara's Virtues

Confidence: I can do anything if i Put my mind to it.

Goals: I am someone who pursue all my goals

Role Model:Showing others they can do good in life

Leader:to show others the right way

Inspiring: inspire others to do the right thing

competitive: so that i can show myself and others that i can do better than what i am applying myself to do

Aggressive: go after i want

Talented: I have many Qualities

Individual:there's no one like me.

Emotional: i have feelings at times i cant explain why i feel that way

Strong:i am a strong person

Stubborn: what i say is what i stand for

Expressive: I express myself threw many things

Accordingly all experience hath shown that mankind are disposed to suffer while evils are suffer able. than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. In other words they are saying The king gets all the things he do and learn from god but there is more to it than just that. Some things that the people wrote about the situation is he has waged cruel war against human nature itself , he has incited treasonable insurrections of our fellow citizens, he has also abdicated government here while withdrawing his governors and declaring us out of his allegiance and protection.

Models

What is a model, and what is modeling? A model is a person who poses or displays something that wants or needs to be sold for purpose of art fashion or other products and advertising like Swimsuits. Modeling is distinguished from other public performance such as in acting, dancing, or mime artiste. There are many types of modeling you can also break modeling down into many sections, the history, plus size models, Hip-Hop models, it’s easy to be a model, Who can and will be Americas Next top model, The whole idea of a model is …
During the first half of the 20th century, most models were considered of low morals. Vogue’s first cover of living woman was in 1932. In the 1950 the society became more fluid in other words something that was really popular. Modeling became and was the path to rich and a well-bred husband. Later in the 1960s it became a path for rich and badly behaved boyfriends. The first models to come along in history were Janice Dickinson, twiggy, Kate Moss, Lauren Hutton, and Marie Hooligan. These models have paved the way for all the models of today, two of our models today are Tyra Banks and Selita. The models from the past made it easier for the models that model today. Their walk, their photos and not only that but how to deal with other situations to become model .The models who paved the way didn’t only teach but motivated young models like myself to become a model. Any one can be a model if the put their mine to it and follow simple skills. The four most important thing is to have a walk that show you are selling that dress and every one else is watching and thinking, "I got to have that." Your style should be unique. No one else should be able to appear on the runway with the same style and attitude that you have. Your facial expression should show that no matter what you think, "I look good in this". It should look as if you know what it takes to sell the outfit. Photos are also very important. You should have pictures that show you can sell your outfit that you are advertising, and when people look in a magazine they say, "I’ve got to have that" .The things I’m explaining are a few good techniques you learn when modeling.
When being a model your appearance is everything. Your appearance doesn’t just stop at a photo shoot or on the runway. Your appearance is something that you have to carry when you eat, sleep, shop and everything because you never know were the paparazzi will be to take that one bad photo of you when you appear the worst. That’s why you should always be careful of your appearance and what you were, so that you can always make a good appearance.
Photos of a model should be unique and different from any other photo, person, and image. When you go on a photo shoot the things you did at the last photo shoot should be different. Sometimes when you take photos you might have to do a little acting in order to get the look that they want or need. Most photographers like the look of fierce, a fierce look makes a great picture. One model that knows a lot about great pictures and being a great model is Tyra Banks.
One very talented model is Tyra Banks .At the age 17-Tyra Banks was singed to a modeling agency called Elite. Tyra was known as the best supermodel of the 1990s. She was also the first African American to appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue. She was a former model who now has a popular TV reality show America’s Next top model it’s a reality t.v. Show that allows people to have a chance to become a model. Her show helps you become a great model and teach you the life of what a model is. How to take pictures and present to all the others I can be Americas next top model.
In the end IM really trying to get across that modeling is very unique and you would enjoy doing it . Modeling may look easy but if you look at the research you will see it’s not easy as it may seem. But don’t let it stop you any one can be a model.
